Thursday fun...

Carried away with the camera....

More of the same playing, building, swimming, running, exploring, relaxing, bonding, no-napping, laughing, and eating going on at the big purple house today...
We took a late evening walk and I took the opportunity to put the kids in some casual white clothes and snap a few (understatement of the year) pictures of them running and exploring...
David, Jared, Erinn, (and Henry and Maddie) had to head back to the "real" world today, and we are missing them! I am so thankful to have the rest of the week with the kids, my parents, and my sister! I love this time together....

Dog days of summer...

I forgot to upload last night and so here are some of our pics from Tuesday....The little ones did not have the best night of sleep (so neither did David or I) and I thought you might like to see what Lila looks like after a rough night:





Did I mention we have FOUR dogs at the house with us? Rex, Howie, Maddie, and Henry have been on vacation as well....

We spent a lot of the afternoon in the pool yesterday and the kids are getting much more in to swimming...logistically, it is just too hard for me to take them to the pool myself, but since we have so many hands here they have been able to have a great time "wimmin'" in the pool!

Another day in (tropical storm-free) paradise!

We were able to spend all morning outside enjoying the beautiful weather....We were worried about the storms heading this way, but it really has been nice....All of the wind actually created a little "stream" up on the beach that the kids loved wading in....

Lila has come a long way in 24 hours...when we first put her down on the sand she screamed hysterically and froze in place (remember the mother's day/father's day photo shoot with Nikki?). But now, she plops down on the sand and starts digging! :)

His future's so bright...he's gotta wear shades....

Mo, Erinn, and I escaped for a little while during the dreary weather this afternoon and made a quick trip to the outlets. Thanks so much to David (and my Mom) for holding down the fort! It was another day of no naps, so our munchkins are worn out and already asleep...Hey- naps would be nice, but at least they are sleeping at night! I'll take it....

What a difference a year makes

We arrived safely at the beach yesterday! Lila kept the car ride interesting...as she is good at doing..and managed to prevent everyone from taking naps...but, that being considered the kids did great when we got here. And, they crashed at bedtime (no protests) after a long car ride and afternoon in the sand.
It is sooo much different this year! First of all, all three kids can walk!! They love the beach and are having so much fun....Naptime for Lila and Bennett did not go well today (climbing out of pack-n-plays, etc) but by bedtime they were so pooped they just laid down and went right to sleep. And, even though they didn't have naps, they were so distracted by the beach that they actually weren't total disasters this afternoon!
Obviously we have a lot of help, and so that is giving me a nice little break. David rarely is able to take off work, so the kids are loving the time with him as well as with SuSu, G, their Aunts, and Uncle. We are just all very thankful to be here!
