day four: hollywood studios

Day four was Hollywood Studios day and we also kind of dubbed it "Bennett's Special Day."
After all, he has been putting with lots of princess stuff, all (mostly) with a smile on his face!

All three kids got new Mickey and Minnie pjs when they woke up, but Bennett also had a special surprise waiting for him...Buzz pjs, wings, gloves, and goggles.
OH MY GOODNESS the look on his face!!! SOOOO excited!

I had a cute little Buzz appliqued shirt (that Suz made for his bday) planned for him to wear, but once he put on his Buzz pj's we realized there was no getting them off of him. Luckily we were able to convince him to leave the wings at home, it looks pretty much like a costume (just costs a LOT less), was comfortable for him, and so David and I just decided to let him wear them all day. People called him Buzz all day- which he loved!

This was the morning David woke up with a good amount of fever and feeling pretty terrible. He made it to his class for a little while and then came back to get us to head to Hollywood Studios (I still always want to call it MGM. I guess I'm old. )
Luckily we had some meds with us, and so he took some Advil, put on his "happy face" (as we always say to the kids), and we headed to the park.

Right off the bat we hit Toy Story Mania to get a fast pass. Even heading straight there our return time was 7:30 p.m.! So, we knew we were in for a long day at the park, because there was no way we were missing that ride.

After that we walked across the street and got in line to meet Buzz and Woody. This is probably the longest we have waited for anything this trip, but we would have waited for however long we had to for Bennett to meet Buzz. He was sooo excited!

Luckily they have lots of cute little photo ops that (kind of help) keep the kids occupied while you are waiting in the winding line....

Honestly, I am not surprised that people get sick here. I mean the place is completely spotless and there is never trash anywhere, BUT all of the kids are constantly groping, rubbing, climbing, and touching EVERYTHING they can...including all of the handrails, the rides, etc. I brought wipes and we have washed hands alot, but I just kind of had to get over the grossness of it. It is what it is...You just can't expect 3 and 5 year olds to stand in line like statues and not touch things...just can't....

And then, the moment we had been waiting for......

And one of my top three pictures of the trip so far:
Bennett and Buzz! Love it!!! As we were walking out he seriously looked up at me and said, "I'm so happy....."
Melts my heart!!!
For lunch Tuesday we booked Hollywood & Vine. It is a cute little diner with characters from Playhouse Disney. For our lunch the kids got to meet Handy Manny (we knew Bennett would love to meet him- one of the reasons we booked this), Agent Oso, and June and Leo from Little Einsteins.

It was a very interactive lunch. The kids got to dance with the characters and they sang songs from their shows. Super cute.

They didn't talk. So Lila didn't take pictures. :)
After lunch we headed to the ADORABLE Disney Jr. show. The kids had a blast!

Bennett is so mesmerized in this pic. One of his new favorites shows, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, was part of the show.

It was a super cute little show that all of the kids adored.
Bennett (and the girls) also got the chance to meet Lightening McQueen and Mater from Cars.

They were thrilled...

Notice Bennett's pose in the above pic. Completely his own idea. Makes me laugh.
After that we caught The Little Mermaid show, the Lights, Camera, Action Stunt spectacular, and the precious Beauty and the Beast stage show.
Then we headed to get seats for the Fantasmic Show. We almost didn't stay for it...I felt bad because I knew David felt bad, the kids were getting a little tired, and it was just getting late. But, we had heard so many great things about it, that we decided to stay...

I am SOOOO glad we did because we all really, really enjoyed it. I don't even know what to say but that is has a little bit of everything...neat water tricks, fire, movies, character appearances, fire works, etc...EVERYTHING.....the kids loved when the boat came out at the end with most of the characters on it...Lila was screaming "Hi Ariel, Hi Ariel"..over and over.
So cute.
After Fantasmic it was F I N A L L Y our turn to ride Toy Story Mania.

It is a really cute ride, not at ALL what I expected, but super super cute. And all 3 kids LOVED it. It is kind of like you are in the video game, and it is interactive. Let's just say it wasn't too easy to explain to Bennett afterwards that we couldn't go on it again....he was sad. :(
But he had a great, great, special day...and if he can't remember it hopefully the 300 pictures that we took will help him do so!
When we got back to our room, Elise found a beautiful invitation (thanks Mo!) waiting on the bed...
Breakfast at Cinderella's Castle tomorrow, with another surprise to follow!
Can't wait!
