To say we are excited about the Superbowl would be a huge understatement. We, like most Louisianians are still pinching ourselves that the Saints are really there! How huge for our state!!
We have been gearing up for the big game all weekend...the kids have been sleeping in their Saints
pjs (courtesy of
SuSu and G- who are in MIAMI BABY!!!), and Emmy and Pop came over yesterday and brought some yummy Saints cookies!!
This morning, everyone in Church was wearing their black and gold. At the end of the service, the exiting hymn was "Oh when the Saints go marching in"...well, it started off in its calm and normal way, but by the second verse everyone was clapping and singing extra loud, and there weren't many dry eyes (not mine for sure) in the place!!
I have been watching the Saints for as long as I can remember....my parents are huge fans (as many of you know, their first date was the second Saints game in 1967) and they have always been a big part of our life. For David and I, when we were first married, we had season tickets for a few years with a huge group of friends and that was our "thing" that we did every weekend. Obviously, things changed when we started having kids and now we watch the games with them....but, excitingly we are headed down to NOLA to reunite with the old "underpass" gang and watch the game with them!
We are so proud of our Saints!!!!!!!!
