a full, fun, 4th of July

For pretty much having no plans going into the 4th weekend, we ended up having a really great time yesterday! Last minute, we remembered about the neighborhood 4th parade, and so David took the kids to the dollar store to get a few decorations for their bikes. As you can see, Bennett, the true boy that he is, did not want any "stuff" on his bike...so he shared his balloon with his favorite balloon loving friend, Jacob, and his 4th lei he shared with me!

Here they are....all lined up and ready to go! It is not much of a parade, but it is fun to see the decorated bikes, scooters, wagons, and golf carts...and the kids just paraded around the circular drive of the clubhouse.....waiving their flags!

I love this pic of Jacob pointing at Lila. They both have major crushes on each other.

About 2 laps in, Bennett started making his own parade route. He was ready for some off-roading.

3 amigos! Jacob looked like a Parnell kiddo in his red and white gingham!

And four friends on the 4th!

After our parading, we spent the whole day at the pool enjoying the water and each other! David is now cast free (yippee!!) and so he was thrilled to see how much progress the kids (well, really Elise and Bennett) had made with their swimming. There were tons of people at the pool, and it was so fun to spend the day with friends!
After our long day of swimming we came home, changed clothes, and headed over to my parents to eat burgers and hot dogs with them and Uncle Jared and Aunt Erinn. The kids were excited to see them, and had a great time doing lots of puzzles. Exhausted, we all headed home and straight to bed. Even the massive fireworks going off couldn't keep this wiped out crew from falling asleep!
Hope you all enjoyed your 4th as well!!!
