day three: animal kingdom

On Monday morning we hopped on the bus to Animal Kingdom. We loved this park last time and were looking forward to spending the day there.

First up, the Safari!

Our kids are big animal lovers (David and I too) and so we knew they would love this. It was a hit last trip as well. Someone had given me the tip to head there right when the park opened and we have done that both times and gotten on with very little wait- so it seems to work.

After seeing all of the gorgeous animals, they hopped back in strollers so that we could make it to the Lion King Show.

This show is so amazing and we all loved it once again!

After that we spent some time in Dinosaur Land riding rides and letting the kids play in the huge dinosaur themed playground.

And Lila spent some time being Lila.

And climbing...

We then met up with the Sievert crew to see the Finding Nemo Show- another amazing one!! Makes me tear up every time! It was great to squeeze in a little time with our cousins, and they all loved the show as well.

And then, it was time. Elise decided it was time for her to do Everest. David and I were scared! I agreed to go first, because even though I used to hate roller coasters when I was little I actually like them, for the most part, now. But, I honestly was still nervous. It is a BIG roller coaster.

This was Elise's BIG SMILE running to tell David about it. We had a rider switch, which meant as soon as we came off she could ride it again with him. I think he was secretly hoping she wouldn't want to do it again....but no such luck.
I tried to warn him, but I don't think he was prepared for what was ahead!!! :)

While we were waiting for them to finish riding Lila and Bennett took turns taking some pictures. This pretty much says it all. Bennett giving me a big hug and Lila wanting to make funny faces. No surprises there!

Later we grabbed a spot to watch one of the many parades we would see this week. The floats in this one were so unique, and the kids loved seeing all of the characters.

After the parade we grabbed seats at the Birds of Flight show. We somehow missed this last time, and I have to say it was AMAZING. We love, loved, loved it!!!

A little street dancing...

Tiger watching...

Pheasant (this thing was HUGE) looking...

And a gorgeous shot of the Tree of Life!

We had dinner in Animal Kingdom at Yak&Yeti in Asia and it was delicious!

Every night when we would come in the beds would be turned down with chocolate on the pillows. In addition, the staff seemed to have fun playing with the kids' special friends...or, as Bennett chose to believe, the friends had fun playing in the room while we were gone! Every day they would be arranged in different ways around the room.
See- it's the little things....so much fun!
Too bad they didn't do our laundry while we were gone too! :)
