new friend and old friends

Meet Aurora Dorothy Parnell. She does not quite fill the void left by Baxter, but she also only requires 3 pellets twice a day and doesn't shed. I think I can handle that.
As I am sure you figured out, Elise was in charge of the naming process. After we heard her decision, David and I tried to convince her that she was really a he. But, no such luck. So, "Aurora" after Sleeping Beauty (currently her favorite princess, although she has never even seen the movie) and "Dorothy" after Elmo's pet fish on Sesame Street.

We were thrilled that our friends the Adams, came over to visit for the afternoon. They don't live too far away, but it is still hard to find time to all get together. We had tons of fun just hanging out, grilling burgers, and catching up. Gray took Elise and Bennett on many geological adventures, while Lila (although the spunkiest, also the least adventurous) hung back to dance to the music with Shelley and I.

Gray was showing them how to make some sort of rock stew from rocks they collected in the backyard...they were fascinated...

Bennett following his Godfather around like a shadow...

An exciting discovery??

As usual, the Adams were great sports and extra patient of all three munchkins competing for their attention. The hit of the day were the extra special cupcakes they brought from a cupcake bakery Uptown that got the kids worked up into quite a cupcake frenzy! Elise (inspired by the project from Ella's bday party) sent them home with mermaid art for their fridge, and before they could even pull out of the driveway was asking when they were going to come back and visit.......I don't blame her, I love seeing them too!!!
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as well!
Love, Nicole
